For example Verizon has set the last octet of the Static IP to .180 with a subnet of 255.255.255.252. With this subnet .180 lands on a network address where .181 and .182 are the usable addresses It works when you plug it into a PC, but the ASA complains when it tries to set the IP from DHCP.

You can apply NAT with a lot of granularity using service policies on a per VIP basis.
